The L.A.U.G.H.® App recently completed testing with Seattle Children’s Research Institute. Working with the internationally recognized Dimitri A. Christakis, MD, MPH, Director of the Center for Child Health, Behavior and Development, the team at Children’s conducted evidence-based formative research to support the app’s development. The research team tested a variety of approaches, measuring effects on physiological markers of relaxation and concentration. Results show significant cognitive engagement in users, as well as increased focus and concentration.
“The L.A.U.G.H.® App is distinguished from virtually all existing health apps,” said Dr. Christakis. “Our preliminary data demonstrate that children using The L.A.U.G.H.® App exhibited much greater concentration than when using comparable entertainment apps.”
We call the L.A.U.G.H.® App The Un-App App® because it embraces the younger generation’s use of technology while carefully orchestrating the use of images, colors, sounds and music – all with the goal of encouraging positivity and calm.
